FAQs

What is skin needling?

Skin needling, also known as microneedling, is a cosmetic procedure that involves using a device with small, fine needles to puncture the skin. This process stimulates the skin's natural healing process and promotes the production of collagen and elastin, which can help improve the overall appearance of the skin.

What are the benefits of skin needling?

Skin needling can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin texture and tone, reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks, and improve the overall appearance of the skin. It can also be used to treat hyperpigmentation and sun damage.

How long does a skin needling treatment take?

The length of a skin needling treatment can vary depending on the area being treated and the depth of the needles used. Typically, a treatment takes between 30 and 60 minutes.

Is skin needling painful?

Skin needling can cause some discomfort, but most people find it tolerable. We use a numbing cream to help minimise any pain or discomfort.

How long does it take to see results from skin needling?

You may notice some immediate results, such as smoother and brighter skin, but the full effects of the treatment can take several weeks or even months to fully appear. The production of collagen and elastin takes time, so results are usually seen gradually over time.

Is there any downtime after a skin needling treatment?

You may experience some redness and mild swelling, but these side effects usually subside within a few days. You may also notice some slight bruising or pinpoint bleeding at the treatment site, but this is normal and nothing to be concerned about. We recommend avoiding sun exposure and wearing sunscreen after the treatment.

How many skin needling treatments are needed?

The number of treatments needed can vary depending on your skin concerns and goals. We typically recommend a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart to achieve the best results.

Is skin needling safe while pregnant?

Yes - although, during pregnancy, the skin can be more sensitive and prone to irritation and inflammation, which can increase the risk of adverse reactions to skin needling. Additionally, some topical products and numbing agents used during the procedure may not be safe for use during pregnancy.
