Tattoo Removal uses a Q‑Switched Nd:YAG laser to deliver focused light energy that breaks up tattoo ink into tiny particles which the body can gradually clear away. The treatment progressively fades or removes unwanted tattoos while preserving surrounding skin. Multiple sessions are usually needed, and the process is tailored to your tattoo’s colour, size and depth.

FAQs
What does tattoo removal feel like?
Laser tattoo removal feels like a hot-flick of a rubber band. We can use numbing cream to reduce the pain although most people still feel a slight hot flick.
Is there downtime?
Some redness and swelling is normal after tattoo removal and can last up to 72 hours. The ink usually 'blanches', this means it temporarily whitens while the laser shatters the ink. The colour return to the tattoo after a few hours and usually much lighter than previously.
Does it hurt?
Generally, tattoo removal treatments are quick, and clients experience only minimal discomfort. The older the tattoo, the more treatments may be necessary. Different colours and more intricate designs may also require additional treatments.
How many sessions will I need?
The amount of treatments required for significant reduction of complete removal relies entirely on the age, depth and colour of the tattoos. The older the tattoo is and the further the ink has traveled into the dermis, the longer we can expect it to completely remove. Tattoo removal can vary anywhere between 6-12 sessions.
How far apart are treatments?
Treatments are usually 4-6 weeks apart. This allows enough time to process the ink out of the body and for the remainder of the ink to settle properly before retreating.
How long does it take?
Tattoo removal is generally fast although larger body parts will take longer to complete. Small tattoos can take a few minutes to treat while larger body areas can take 1.5 hours. This will be discussed during your consultation so that you can be prepared.
