What is Mole Removal?
Flat mole removal using laser treatment is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses focused light energy to break down the pigment in the mole. It's ideal for small, benign, and non-raised moles that lie flat against the skin. The laser targets the mole without cutting the skin, which helps reduce the risk of scarring and speeds up healing. This method is quick, precise, and requires minimal downtime.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The number of laser treatments needed to remove a flat mole typically ranges from 1 to 3 sessions, depending on factors like:
Size and depth of the mole
Color and pigmentation
Your skin type and how it responds to treatment
Some lighter or smaller moles may fade after just one session, while darker or deeper ones may need additional treatments.
What's The Process?
The process of removing a flat mole with a laser typically involves the following steps:
Preparation: The area is cleaned, and a numbing cream can be applied to minimise discomfort or we will ask you to apply numbing cream on the area at least 1 hour before your appointment and to wrap the mole and numbing cream up with cling wrap. This will occlude the skin allowing for faster absorption.
Laser Treatment: We will perform the mole removal. Our specialised laser targets the mole’s pigment, breaking it down without damaging the surrounding skin.
Post-Treatment Care: The treated area may appear slightly red or scabbed for a few days. A soothing ointment will be applied.
The procedure is quick, usually taking just a few minutes, with minimal downtime and a low risk of scarring.
What Does Mole Removal Feel Like?
Laser mole removal is a quick and relatively comfortable procedure. Most clients describe the sensation as similar to a light rubber band snap against the skin or a mild tingling feeling. To ensure your comfort, we can apply a numbing cream before the treatment.
After the session, the treated area may feel slightly warm or sensitive—similar to a mild sunburn. These effects are temporary, and most people can resume their normal activities right away.
Is There Downtime?
Laser mole removal requires little to no downtime. Most clients can return to their daily activities immediately after the procedure. You may experience mild redness, slight swelling, or scabbing in the treated area for a few days as the skin heals.
To ensure the best results, we recommend keeping the area clean, avoiding direct sun exposure, and following any aftercare instructions provided by your our qualified therapists. Healing is typically quick, with minimal disruption to your routine.
How far Apart Are Treatments?
If multiple laser sessions are needed, treatments are usually spaced 4-6 weeks. This allows your skin time to heal fully and for the body to gradually break down and absorb the mole’s pigment.
How Long Does Laser Mole Removal Take?
The laser mole removal procedure is quick and typically takes just 10-15 minutes per mole, depending on its size and location.
