Cosmetic Brow Tattoo Removal

Have you caught a case of bad brows?

Don’t worry - WE CAN FIX IT! Brow Tattoo can be a life saver to easily define your brows, but when it goes wrong.. it goes wrong! We provide the Sydney area with the option to safely remove brow tattoo. We can also treat other cosmetic tattoo - brow tattoo removal is one of our main services here at the Skin & Things Clinic!

We have helped hundreds of women remove unwanted brow tattoo. We use the Cosjet Hero - a QSwitch Yag Laser that safely shatters the ink into tiny particles, allowing it to pass through the body’s waste system and eliminating the ink.

What’s Tattoo Removal?

Our COSJET Hero Nd:YAG Laser that is used for tattoo removal is a highly focused laser that rapidly delivers a beam of light to the skin for the purposes of removing unwanted tattoos. The laser energy is absorbed by the tattoo ink and shatters the ink into tiny particles, allowing the body to remove the ink via the body’s own lymphatic system

How Many Treatments Will I need? The amount of treatments required for significant reduction or complete removal relies entirely on the age, depth and colour of the existing tattoo. The older the tattoo is and the further the ink has traveled into the dermis, the longer we can expect it to completely remove. Brow tattoo can significantly lighten in about 4 treatments, although full removal of brow tattoo can be seen in 6+ treatments. Most clients are satisfied with their brows after 4-6 sessions.

Can you remove other cosmetic tattoo?

Yes we can! We can safely perform Brow Tattoo Removal and Lip Tattoo Removal. Cosmetic inks can sometimes oxidise when being lasered. This can result in an orange/yellow residue in the skin which can be removed with subsequent treatments. This doesn’t happen to all cosmetic tattoos, although it is a possibility.

We can also offer an alternative to brow removal with brow reshaping. If you have existing brow tattoo that you no longer like the shape of, and you aren’t ready to finacially commit to full removal and having to re-do them, then we can help you reshape the existing tattoo into a fresh new brow shape!

Whats the process?

Here’s how our specialists perform your Tattoo removal:

  • We will ask you to apply numbing cream on the area at least 1 hour before your appointment and to wrap the tattoo and numbing cream up with cling wrap. This will occlude the skin allowing for faster absorption.

  • We will outline and grid the tattoo in sections for us to work in

  • We'll then perform the laser tattoo removal

  • To reduce swelling and inflammation we will offer you an ice pack

  • We then apply a soothing balm and wrap the tattoo to keep it bacteria free

  • We rebook you in 4-6 weeks for your next treatment

What does tattoo removal feel like?

Laser tattoo removal feels like a hot-flick of a rubber band. We can use numbing cream to reduce the pain although most people still feel a slight hot flick.

Is there downtime?: some redness and swelling is normal after tattoo removal and can last up to 72 hours. The ink usually 'blanches', this means it temporarily whitens while the laser shatters the ink. The colour return to the tattoo after a few hours and usually much lighter than previously.

Does it hurt? Generally, tattoo removal treatments are quick, and clients experience only minimal discomfort. The older the tattoo, the more treatments may be necessary. Different colours and more intricate designs may also require additional treatments.

How many sessions will I need? The amount of treatments required for significant reduction of complete removal relies entirely on the age, depth and colour of the tattoos. The older the tattoo is and the further the ink has traveled into the dermis, the longer we can expect it to completely remove. Tattoo removal can vary anywhere between 6-12 sessions..

How far apart are treatments? Treatments are usually 6-8 weeks apart. This allows enough time to process the ink out of the body and for the remainder of the ink to settle properly before retreating.

How long does it take? Tattoo removal is generally fast although larger body parts will take longer to complete. Small tattoos can take a few minutes to treat while larger body areas can take 1.5 hours. This will be discussed during your consultation so that you can be prepared.

Tattoo Removal requires numbing cream for a comfortable treatment. To ensure you are in as little discomfort as possible, we ask that you apply your own numbing cream 1 hour prior to treatment.

We will give you the contact details of a compounding pharmacy that will deliver the numbing cream to you before your appointment.
